Canadian Blood Services reminds of need for donations

Canadian Blood Services is asking Canadians to “act now.”

It reminds the public that the need for donations of blood, plasma and platelets remains.

Specifically, rare blood types and O-negative blood are required.

“O-negative blood donors play a critical role in our blood system,” the group said in a statement to the media. “As universal donors, O-negative blood donors play a vital role in any blood system because you can save any patient who needs blood.”

If you would like to donate, there are two donation clinics open in the area.

On May 9th you can donate at the Mount Forest Recreation Complex from 3pm to 8pm On May 31st you can donate at the Owen Sound Legion from 2pm to 7pm
