The City of Windsor has launched a new partnership so residents can understand how at risk their homes are from flooding.
AET Group will operate the new Home Flood Protection Program. It includes visual inspection and assessment to determine where water has entered. The report is confidential. It uses color-coded guidelines so homeowners can see which areas are at high risk.
In a pilot program, the service will be offered to 100 homeowners on a first-come, first-served basis.
The city is subsidizing the fee, but residents must pay a $200 security deposit. The deposit will be refunded after inspection.
