A 31-year-old Toronto man was arrested Thursday after a manhunt near Center Wellington.
The Grand River Conservation Authority approached a suspicious vehicle at the entrance to the Belwood Lake Conservation Area at approximately 8 a.m. on April 13. They said the driver fled into a wooded area.
The Wellington OPP attended with the ERT and the Dog Squad and confirmed the vehicle had been reported as stolen.
Troops searched the area for the suspect.
About 11.30pm, police were called to a Fourth Line residence where items were reported to have been stolen from a clothesline. Police located the suspect nearby, the same man involved in the stolen vehicle investigation earlier in the day.
The man faces charges including possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000, nighttime break and enter and theft of property under $5,000. The defendant has been released on bail.
