Hockey Canada and the woman quietly settled the $3.55 million lawsuit out of court.
The group then announced that members of the 2003 Men’s World Junior List – the last time Halifax hosted – were also being investigated for collective sexual assault.
To restore funding, Hockey Canada needs to meet three conditions outlined by St-Onge, which include: becoming a full signatory to the Office of the Commissioner for Cruelty-Free Sport and Sports Integrity; reviewing and implementing independent governance led by retired judge Thomas Cromwell recommendations of the review; and a commitment to more frequent reporting to the federal government.
