The arrival of spring in Windsor means the eventual arrival of the great outdoors.
City-owned sports fields and ballparks are currently being prepared for the upcoming season. The city has set May 6 as the opening date for ballparks, weather permitting. All other venues should be open on May 13 as long as weather and ground conditions permit.
While mild weather may be attractive to sports enthusiasts, New York City’s Parks and Recreation Department will need to be patient.
“We ask users not to use fields and diamonds, as the turf needs time to mature and allow for pre-season maintenance,” reads a media release. “Using fields while closed or without permits may result in fines for unauthorized use.”
