Man arrested for breaking into flat in Chatham
A 66-year-old Chatham man has been charged with breaking and entering after allegedly forcing open the door of a unit on Michener Road in Chatham.
Chatham-Kent Police said they were called to the scene just after 5pm on Sunday and learned there was some damage to the wall when the door was forced open.
The defendant was charged with breaking and entering and he was taken to police headquarters before being released on conditional and future court dates.

Woman charged with shoving two, breaching release conditions
A 23-year-old Chatham woman who has run into the law is facing more charges for allegedly assaulting someone in Chatham on Sunday night.
Police said they became involved in the investigation after they were called to an address on Shelton Avenue in Chatham for a disturbance shortly after 7 p.m. on Sunday.
When they arrived, officials said, they learned that the woman was allegedly sending messages to a specific woman with whom she had been ordered not to contact, and had shown up at the specific woman’s home on Shelton Avenue, although she Being banned from any place where the woman is known.
While the accused was at the woman’s home, she was allegedly knocking on a window, prompting a man who was inside at the time to come out and talk to her.
Police said a bystander also saw the confrontation and asked the couple to move their argument elsewhere.
The woman then allegedly pushed bystanders and the man she was arguing with.
As a result, the 23-year-old Chatham woman was charged with two counts of assault and one count of failing to comply with a release order.
She was taken to police headquarters and later released with conditions and a future court date.

A 64-year-old Chatham woman has been charged with assault with a weapon after she allegedly threw an object at a man during an altercation at the weekend.
Police said they were called to investigate the incident on Galbraith Street in Chatham just after 11.30pm on Sunday, although the alleged attack took place during a dispute on Saturday .
The woman was charged with assault with a weapon and was taken to police headquarters before being released with conditions and a future court date.
