A cybersecurity incident has resulted in the closure of several Gateway Casinos facilities in Ontario.
Gateway Casinos issued a statement Monday night saying a cybersecurity incident was discovered over the weekend and that the facilities will remain closed “over the next few days” while working with third-party cyber professionals to restore its IT systems.
The closures affect Cascades Casino in Chatham, Star Casino in Point Edward, Gateway Casinos in Sarnia, London, Woodstock and Clinton, and Playtime Casino in Hanover.
The company said that at this time it does not appear that any personal data of its customers has been compromised, but that they are “notifying relevant privacy officials and gaming regulators” of the incident.
They thank employees, customers and government partners for their continued patience, the statement said.
Further updates will be released as they become available.
