After an 11-year-old was bitten by a dog on April 10, Lambton Public Health is seeking more information about the dog and its owner.
The health department said the incident happened around 11 a.m. near High Park Public School on Kember Avenue.
The child reportedly asked the owner’s permission before petting the animal.
The dog is described as a medium-sized, black and white pit bull mix. A white-haired woman in her 70s leads it on a leash.
If the dog cannot be found and the animal’s health is confirmed, the victim will need to receive a post-exposure rabies shot.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Lambton Public Health at 519-383-8331 ext. 3601 or toll free 1-800-667-1839.
