Out of an abundance of caution, schools go into safe state

The nearby Queens Park Elementary School was put on alert early Tuesday morning following reports of a shooting in Maples in Penticton.

According to a witness, as many as 14 police cars responded to Maple Street after gunshots were heard around 8:15 a.m.
