South Bruce police bust two alleged drunk drivers in 90 minutes

The South Bruce OPP had a busy day on April 15, as they arrested two alleged impaired driver charges within the same two-hour window.

They first received a report of a suspected drunk driver in Elderslie Township at 3.07pm. A car veered off the road and rolled into a ditch, according to police. A 23-year-old driver from Arran-Elderslie was arrested and now faces charges of drink driving and driving with more than 80mg of drugs.

About an hour and a half later, at 4:38 p.m., OPP received a call at Kincardine from another suspected impaired driver.

A 33-year-old Kincardine driver faces three charges; operating over 80 mg, possessing more than one license and blocking a license plate.

The South Bruce OPP reminds drivers that illegal charging can result in a 90-day driver’s license suspension and seven-day vehicle impoundment.
