Three people hurt in serious three-vehicle crash

Three drivers have been taken to hospital after three crashes in south London.

The crash happened on Highbury Avenue, south of the Thomson Line in central Elgin, about 3.10pm on Monday.

Two of the vehicles ended up in the ditch, one on the roof, while a third vehicle with a badly damaged front end came to a stop on the northbound and southbound lanes.

All three drivers had to be taken to a hospital, but the extent of their injuries was not yet known, the OPP said.

Highbury between Thomson Line and Carr Road was closed for several hours. It reopened overnight.

The investigation into the cause of the accident is still ongoing, police said.
