Windsor police say a suspect wanted in connection with a sexual assault investigation has surrendered.

According to police, a woman contacted them on April 4 to report that she had been sexually assaulted while at the Windsor Women’s Shelter. The victim told police that the suspect, who was also living at the shelter at the time, climbed onto her bed and sexually assaulted her.

“The suspect has been identified as 32-year-old Desiree Anderson, who may also be known as Cody D’Entremont,” police said in a statement released Tuesday.

Shortly after 5 p.m. Tuesday, police tweeted that the suspect had turned himself in.

“We would like to thank the public for their support and for sharing our post. Your help with advocacy has played a vital role in reaching a resolution,” police tweeted.

The allegations have not been proven in court.
