Arran-Elderslie temporarily moving municipal office

From next week Arran-Elderslie Council will temporarily relocate council offices due to construction.

On April 24, operations will transfer to the Chesley Volunteer Fire Department at 211 First Avenue. Clerk Christine Fraser-McDonald said the move could take six to eight weeks.

“We’re doing some refurbishment of the basement and putting in an elevator for easy access, so that’s happening in the front lobby,” she said. “So what’s happening now is our front-of-house support staff will be moving to Chesley Fire Hall , so that they can still accommodate all of our taxpayers.”

Office hours will remain the same from 8:30am to 4:30pm, Monday through Friday.

Fraser-McDonald added that council meetings will still be held at city offices and will be live streamed online.
