A 28-year-old Windsor man is facing five criminal charges after a 15-year-old girl was sexually assaulted by a man she met online.
Windsor Police’s Major Crimes Squad launched an investigation last Friday after receiving reports of the incident the night before.
Investigators said the suspect connected with the victim on social media and used false information to lure her to the meeting.
They met at a park in downtown Windsor, where she was physically and sexually assaulted, police said.
Police arrested a suspect near Park Street East and Ouellette Avenue.
Eric Little faces charges of sexual assault, sexual harassment, assault, telecommunications with a person under 16 with the intent to commit sexual assault, and failure to comply with a release order.
The allegations have not been proven in court.
Police say the suspect used the name “Eric Andrew “Smokie”” in an online conversation with the victim, and investigators want anyone else who interacted with him to come forward.
