London City Councilors have decided to interview five candidates for vacant seats in the Metropolitan Police – but will the process produce a fair result?
The five people interviewed on TBD dates are:
– Gita Canaran, a clinical psychologist who treats first responders.
– Ryan Gauss, who worked in the office of MP Peter Fragiskatos, ran Mayor Josh Morgan’s campaign and in a civilian capacity with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police cooperate.
– Joseph Wabegijig, Executive Director, Atlohsa Family Healing Services. He also served on the Wikwemikong Tribal Police Service Council.
– Stephen D’Amelio, former Chairman of Pride London Festival.
– Michele Anderson, Associate Director of Academic Support and Engagement, Western University.
All of the candidates — with the exception of the controversial Goss, who was the first to be picked to replace the outgoing Susan Toth — represent a minority of the city’s population. Craig shares his thoughts on the chaos caused by Parliament and what might come next.
Then, let’s talk baseball!
Blue Jays fan and battle deck expert Lesley Mak tours the revamped Rogers Center and joins Craig to tell us what to expect when we head to a Blue Jays game this summer.
